Dapto Mall’s Starlight Family Story

Eight-year-old Tyran was born with a degenerative muscular illness called Duchene Muscular Dystrophy. He loves history and culture and can easily converse on these subjects. Tyran’s had one dream– to experience the history and culture of Australia’s famous landmark, Uluru. Tyran has been reading and studying the beautiful region for many years. His lifelong dream was to touch ‘the rock’ with his family.

Tyran set off on his adventure recently to the Northern Territory. His father Darren and Granddad Roger accompanied Tyran on his wish. He experienced culture, luxury accommodation at the Sails in the Desert Hotel, watched the magnificent sunrise over Uluru, a sunset camel tour, an aboriginal dot painting workshop as well as a personal 4WD tour of Uluru where Tyran was able to ‘touch the rock’ for the first time!

“I had so much fun on my Starlight Wish, the highlight was touching Uluru, the heart of the NT and I did so much but the helicopter trip over Uluru also showed me a lot of Uluru that I could not see from the ground.
